What the Pho!
Brisket is my favorite food so I'm going to have to try this out soon. Never put it in soup but I'll keep an open mind.

Good to know on Lees sir.

Coliseum Pizza going on the list.

You live in CA, and you've never had brisket pho? Eek
My god man, what are you waiting for? You need to try it!

And if you like barbecue brisket, you need to visit TX.

I like Pho. Here in the OC, specifically Garden Grove, Westminster and west Santa Ana, there’s probably more Pho shops than gas stations. Prior to my retirement in ‘18, my coworkers and I used to frequent a Pho shop on Newport in Tustin almost every other week for lunch. I can’t recall the name. I’m getting hungry remembering it.

Pho and the sandwiches are amazing. Albuquerque has quite a Vietnamese population, so there are many good restaurants. In one I frequent, the employees have shirts that say "High as Pho". Their food is great. I love the pho, but their spicy lemongrass soup is my favorite.

You can grab a slice from Colosseum, have a nice bowl of noodles at Pho Kim Long, then bring home some awesome Banh Mi at Thanh Huong all within that two blocks on Capitol Ave. Cool

My friend,,,, I lived in Texas for 10 years. I made sweeet love to Brisket bookoo times. Point taken on the Cal thing. Not here by choice, but have to make the best of things. Can't throw a rock in Milpitas without hitting 10 Pho places.

Couple great restaurants, James beard award winning bakery (Dong Phuong) grocery store. Lots of good eats

Not an unusual story, always heartened to see the South Vietnamese flag flying.

In the Bay Area, there were a lot less Vietnamese sandwich shops than Pho places. I only know of the one and I think it was a small locally owned chain.

You thinking of Lee's Sandwiches? They've built themselves quite a mini-empire with 60 odd locations in 4-5 states.

My favorite banh mi shop is Doc Huong Sandwiches in East San Jose on Story Rd; I make sure to have a Viet Iced Coffee since the driving commute in any direction is such a bear.

Sounds like it. It looked upscale to me as far as dei sandwich shops go.

A lot of Vietnamese immigrants ended up in Houston. The climate is hot and humid, just like home. There is nearly as much Vietnamese food here as there are tacquerias.

Bring me some pho, yes please.

It's a whole different kind of sandwich, isn't it? I don't recall how it actually taste, but I just remember many different kinds of flavors and different mounthfeel like crunchiness.

Exactly! The cuisine skilfully blends fresh, raw ingredients with perfectly cooked proteins, and crunchy with soft texture, spicy with not-so-spicy.
