Wife and I are going to Europe later this year. Wondering if anyone is using a Travel or Trip Planner App to organize their itinerary. It would be handy to have it mobile phone accessible while in Europe. Some of the apps I heard mentioned are Wanderlog, Tripit, Kayak, Trip Advisor, etc. Thanks!

I have TripIt and TripCase. I prefer Tripit but just for the looks. Both can access your email and automatically pull out travel plans like flights and hotel bookings and capture the details. And you can classify destinations or legs under one trip. You can manually add stops. The above are the free stuff. For a subscription fee, it will let you know on the fly of any delays or cancellations, invite your friends (like your family traveling with you), and keep track of travel points. IIRC, part of the free stuff is keep track of business expenses. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." My wife had her phone stolen in Paris. Pick pocketed out of her purse. We now keep a set of two-factor authentication backup codes printed out and laminated along with laminated copies of our passports in the hotel room safe. It's all fun and games until your phone gets stolen and you can't get back into your account because you can't access text, email or phone. Just a thought/PSA

I have Tripit, Tripcase and Flighty. Flighty is by far the best of the 3.
Exactly why I have my wife's phone set up to mirror mine.

I've used Tripit, I thought it was ok but, wasn't anything that blew me away. I'll populate my smartphone's calendar however, every trip that's beyond a week or, multiple detinations I make a single-page spread sheet, (call me OCD) where it's come in handy a few times. It lists each day's destination, the accommodations we're at with the important information like address, phone number and reservation number, flight/train information, and name, location info for museums, performances and such for each of those days. If somebody asks or, forgets what's next...I just show them the sheet. I'll print out separately the accommodation confirmations, as I've run into a few time where our booking got 'lost'. Having that usually keeps the check-in staff on their toes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hauling a phone book worth of print-outs, it's all put into a plastic envelope, and is easily tucked away in my carry-on pack.

I used to do that also, but finally realized that all I had to do was keep the confirmation emails from rent a cars, condos, airlines, hotels, tours, whatever I've doing in two different email accounts under "saved mail". Then I can bring any of them up at any time and show them to whoever needs to see them. Even if one of my email accounts is down, both won't be down. Saves a bunch of room in my carry on.

We also print the relevant reservations in case of dead battery, etc. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

There's a peace-of-mind knowing I have that information readily available. As Aetoecles exampled, loosing your device puts you in a pickle. Sure you can get on another computer and login, then again, that's several more steps to get whereas, I just pull-out file-folder and there it is. I'm all about traveling light & lean but, there's somethings I like to have as a backup.
