I don’t know how this is going to work, but it’s going to be interesting, I’m sure... B&H Dear Robert, Nobody likes to pay sales tax, but everyone must pay sales tax! B&H, and only B&H, has the solution to the sales tax issue. Tomorrow, May 7th, B&H will be making a game-changing announcement, and as a loyal customer, I’d like you to be privy to some inside information in advance that will change your shopping experience forever. Nearly one year ago, the Supreme Court ruled that out-of-state retailers must collect sales tax on internet sales. This, of course, included B&H. For 46 years we have been committed to providing unparalleled customer service, and so we began the tedious process of implementing a way to eliminate the impact this ruling would have on our customers. We are now ready to launch “Payboo”, the solution to the sales-tax challenge. Tune in tomorrow for details on how to become a part of “Payboo”! I know you have many shopping choices for creative gear and consumer electronics, but with “Payboo”, there will only be one best choice: B&H! I look forward to a continued great business relationship and remember, at B&H, the customer always comes first. That’s why we’ve created “Payboo” to solve the sales tax impact for you. Sincerely, Menashe Horowitz CEO -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

More like "We will pay the sales tax" Meanwhile the prices will be jacked up.

Just for the hell of it |
I don't see B&H doing that. They haven't become a leader in their business from doing things that would upset their customers. Will be interesting to see what their plan is. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. after the Wayfair v South Dakota decision it became MUST collect. that really hurts me (WA state) because this required not only the sellers, but if the seller is not in the best position to collect, Ebay, for example, will add the 10 freakin percent to my bill. Two weeks ago, I almost went into shock when the NYC seller warned me that they were obligated to add $400 to my purchase. Natch, I nixed the sale There are about a dozen states which trigger this MUST collect sword. How I have been getting around it is to have the items shipped to relative in neighboring OR state. She makes monthly visits to my town to visit her mom. This arrangement costs me Chick fil a sandwich for each of her kids when they visit. raymond- 47º34n 122º18w

Told cops where to go for over 29 years… |
BH has been charging sales tax on WA purchases for awhile now, Adorama has not been. I’ve been spending my money at Adorama now. Joined their “VIP” program which give expedited 2-day shipping on most stuff and 1 year accidental damage coverage. I also opened a store account with them as they offer 0% for a period of time on large purchases. I imagine they will have to start collecting tax soon as well. At least the tax rate is based on my address which is a lower rate then the one where the camera stores are... *ETA* I just received an announcement about the BH program. It looks like if you get their store credit card, they credit back the sales tax amount as a “reward”. Hmm, will be interesting to see how it goes. No annual charge but a high interest rate of 29.99%(only an issue if you carry a balance) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c...p?permalinkForward=Y I went ahead and applied, was approved in two seconds. Nice to have BH as an option again. BH and Adorama prices seem to be the same 99% of the time but once in awhile one or the other will have a better deal. Will be curious if they continue their 2-4% rewards they already do on many items... What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I got the email from B&H as well. I just went to their website and what they are offering is a credit card that pays you a rebate equal to the tax you pay when purchasing items from them, if you use their card.
