Lightweight summer sweater
I'm looking for a lightweight, cotton(?), zip-up sweater to carry in the car/truck, something dressier than a sweatshirt. This would be for the times we might go into a restaurant dressed for summer and freeze, or just staying out late when it cools, etc.
Anyone have a recommendation?

I live in Houston so I'm biased by the miserable summer heat and humidity and the summer sweater option got a big ick from me.

I do have an alternative. A wrinkle free modern performance fabric button up shirt. Store it rolled in your vehicle and you can pop on the button up shirt over your t-shirt for wearing into a restaurant. When I travel, I roll up (IME, folding creates wrinkles but rolling doesn't) my performance fabric button down shirts and never have to iron when I take out of my suitcase. My shirts from Duluth are a couple years old, but this is the current version.

I have migrated to poly.
I have a quarter zip North Face that gets a lot of action and a Vendor donated full zip.
Skiing has driven me to poly. If you get hot and sweat in it and then it cools off, it still works. Cotton, not so much.
Very versatile on the MC as an underlayer as well.

I might wear a t-shirt at home but this would be for the times I'm wearing a button up short sleeve shirt. I'd rather just carry in a light sweater than have to change into a long sleeve shirt.

OK I'm not opposed to synthetic or a blend. I was thinking a zip-up might be more versatile but a pullover would work.

Sorry, I’m no help. I can’t imagine wearing any kind of sweater in the furnace of a Texas summer. I can barely stand wearing a shirt. Must be nice.

Wouldn't need it during the day but might for say sitting outside in the evening when it might drop into the 60's. But the main use is when we go to a restaurant...... it's 80 outside and I'm comfortable in a short sleeve shirt then walk into the restaurant with AC blowing set at 65*! I often wish I could walk back out to the car for a light sweater.

I keep a lightweight hooded nylon rain jacket in the car. Handy for those Florida pop-up rainstorms, and does double duty in super cold air conditioned restaurants.

I have one of those although it's bright yellow and has a hood. It'd work but I might look odd wearing mine indoors.

Wish I could help but, like Tatortodd, I live in the land of 98 squared in the summer. 98 degrees and 98 percent humidity. I have never even needed a sweater in winter here. I dream of living in a place where I need one in the summer.

I have a solid color heavy flannel shirt in the car I've used a couple times in restaurants that keep their dining rooms the same temperature as their walk-in cooler.

Mine is black, but I would not hesitate to wear a yellow one. I might balk at pink, but other than that ...
