If it's just photos, Amazon has all the free storage you want.

If it's general storage -- docs, etc., Apple's iCloud disk.

Any benefit to buying direct via the Apple store? Wife saw the Neos at Costco, and the cash back makes that route seem better?

You have kids in school; you can probably get the education discount, ordering from the Apple website. It will ship free to your home, usually two days, or you can order on the website and go to the Apple store to pick it up without waiting two days.

Visited The Apple Store this afternoon. I like the Neo, in Indigo. But, you can tell it is NOT a MacBook. I mean, it is, but it isn't. Just like a Chromebook is not a Thinkpad. One must have realistic expectations, of course.

I'm thinking the smart play might be the M5 Pro mini, for desktop number crunching, and the 16 inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro for my casual computing downstairs or on the deck. Overkill, sure. But, the experience is awesome. Presently on the deck with Sandy The Little White Dog and a glass of cheap Pinot Noir as I keystroke on the MBP. A fine machine.

Apple Store is either hella traffic north or hella traffic south of us. My daughter’s MBP should be here Monday, so at least I’ll have that as a reference point. How does the Air compare to the MBP? My wife has been hinting she wants a computer for awhile and our 20th anniversary is coming up. That’s the China anniversary.
