I have both Lazy boy and my Stressless. I had back surgery in 2012 and I bought the stressless. It is definitely a case of buy once cry once.
It is by far the most supportive chair I have ever tried. It is over 8 years old and still like new. The leather is very nice.

I actually picked one of those up yesterday. Had reduced to $400. Seems pretty good so far and with their return policy it seemed reasonable to give one a try. This is at our second home.
Do have a Flexsteel couch at primary house. 5 years old with zero issues.

So it looks like we are taking a trip south to Drury's. Hard to believe that big of a furniture store is in such a small town. Anyway they have Stressless, LaZ Boy, and Flexsteel. Thanks for all the ideas and opinions!

I couldn't find a store within 75 Miles that 2 in stock. Sounds like they sell a lot of these. The store I bought from told me they had 45 ordered to arrive just after July 4th, 33 had already been sold.

I like Flexsteel for recliners due to their construction and warranty on the reclining mechanism.

When I was a very young man working in my grandfather's furniture store Flexsteel replaced the Albany Oregon fire department's recliners with upgraded models for almost no charge due to warranty issues with recliners that were purchased over ten years prior to the replacement.

It's only cold for a minute or so, then it adjusts to your body temperature and good leather will breath. I slept in a recliner for a few weeks after surgery. Although I did sleep, it was just not the same as getting nekked and sliding under nice clean sheets.

Thanks to the folks who posted Stressless. I think that's who I was trying to recall as a highly recommended but pricey option.

Another vote for the Ekornes Stressless. Get the correct size and avoid the cheapest leather version that can start peeling after a few years and you’re good to go. You’ll still have it long after you forget the price.

Very satisfied with a 15 year old LaZBoy.
Only issue is the thin leather.
Three cats destroyed it.
I would buy another when in the market.
