I don't like the wing nuts on this one shown, most come with an actual nut and that is what I would use. Readily available at your local auto place. They normally stock the dorman one which I don't like since the attachment to the battery post is not solid

kkinaI think that's basically what I'm doing, using the two clamp-plate bolts as terminal studs.

hrcjonSorry I missed what you are actually doing. That clamp is not designed to be used that way, but using it the way you are is just fine.

kkinaIt's kludgey but I can live with it.

I actually looked for the one with the solid (vs. crappy stamped-and-folded) clamp and single upright post, but the store didn't have any. Then I realized I could use this model instead, just as good if not better due to my having two cable connections.
