Usually I'll pay for an extra 15-30 minutes just in case. Without parking tickets there'd be anarchy in most big cities. And people leaving junkers on small town main streets.

While $25 sounds steep, it is not too high by much, comparatively.

PPA tickets as the signs allow. Keeps cars moving in business areas, rather than have spaces tied up by residents or people storing vehicles on city streets. Without turnover in spaces, tradespeople would have a hell of a time conducting business.

I'm in Ocean city now. We have a place down here and try to use it as much as possible. From what everyone says the town is notorious for this - checking parking tickets for people running over. I usually take the bus to the boardwalk or avoid it entirely. Parking is a mess and the crowds are getting rougher every year it seems.

If it makes you feel any better, I think my last parking ticket in Baltimore County was $45. Went over the meter by 10 minutes. It happens.
