BeancookerBest optic for an AR?
Rogue JSK, the optic arrived and is safe and sound. Thanks for the extra battery. Works like a champ. I have to wait until next week for the optic mount to arrive.
As far as astigmatism, yeah, I have one. If I focus on the dot it’s distorted. That said I have never focused on the dot. It’s the spot where the bullet goes.
I can’t begin to say thank you enough. This is a beyond generous gift and I am very appreciative. Thank you.

Your advice and experience are good to know, but unfortunately it does not work for all of us.
I have long taught and tried to practice focusing on the target rather than the optic’s reticle, but doing that with my Aimpoint sights doesn’t change the “bunch of grapes” image I get when using them. After reading your comments I checked to ensure I was doing it right, i.e., making an absolute concentrated effort to focus only on the target, and the reticle was still highly distorted for me.
I’d encourage everyone to try your advice because I believe target focus is the proper method of engaging close range targets quickly, but it may not correct the distorted reticle image problem for all of us.
