BamaJeepsterHappy Columbus Day!
Thank God Columbus had the courage to sail across the ocean. The course of human history was changed for the better - unprecedented human prosperity and freedom. I celebrate Columbus and will continue to do so!

flashguyHappy Columbus Day, indeed! Although he didn't actually land in North America and wasn't sure where he'd landed when he returned, his voyage to this region stimulated further expeditions to colonize this continent and develop its resources. It also doesn't matter that he may not have been the first explorer to reach this area, either--the others didn't stimulate colonization.

sig2392Happy Columbus Day
Behind enemy line they are trying to erase good old CC.
Most of us would not be here if it wasn't for Christopher.
If the indigenous people want their own holiday let them have a different day.

We as Americans should feel very fortunate to have been colonized by the English, and Dutch, rather than the Spanish.

sjtillEven the French were better than the Spanish. The Portuguese—dunno. Apparently their colonization of Brazil was an offshoot of their exploits in Africa.
