When Vinnie passed away and we were sorting through his things, I came across his Forrestal Letter. He was always proud of his service, and I think that the letter (which was sent to everyone discharged post-war) sums up why every Sailor-- past or present-- should be proud of their Navy. Love me some United States Navy. My dad is retired Navy, I worked for the US Navy as a contractor for 18 years, but I wasn't able to qualify to join for med reasons. The Marines will shoot you, the Army will frag your ass to smithereens, the Air Force will atomize you, but the US NAVY will do all three... SIMULTANEOUSLY.
