m499What should we do when we see in Classifieds a really, really good deal from an established forum member?
Do we have any idea HOW they are getting the passwords/log-in info?
thanks

DrewRThank you, Para. I’ve been thinking it would be a good idea to reset my password and this was the catalyst I needed.

12131The “vpn is off, confirming myself” doesn’t appear to match his normal writing style in other posts. But, I apologize, then, if that’s truly him.
Three ads popped up on the same afternoon, all at out of the ordinary super low prices. And, we know for sure Sig2340 was hacked. BBMW’s account, who hasn’t posted in over two years, is almost surely (99.99%) compromised.

steve495Just a suggestion on passwords. I've switched to passphrases.
Increased security: Passphrases are significantly harder for attackers to crack compared to traditional passwords.
Enhanced memorability: They are easier for humans to remember than a string of random characters, which can reduce the need to write them down or reuse them.

newtoSig765Para, I like that passphrase idea steve posts above. How long can a password be here? Can we use spaces between words?

parabellumProbably 255 characters, or a least 64. I don't know and I don't know about spaces, either. You can try it.

newtoSig765Will do. Thanks.

newtoSig765It worked. Short phrase with spaces, accepted as my new PW. Thanks for the idea, steve, and Para for checking.

You're welcome. This is the site you can use to start generating passphrases.
https://www.useapassphrase.com/I use three of the four generated words, add a hyphen between them, and then add one character and a two-digit number after the second word.
I try to have a different passphrase for every online account (painful, I know), but I use a password manager.
