Hello folks..... Yesterday, while I was driving down the highway ( yes, I know I should be paying more attention to my driving ! ) It occurred to me that I already have many, if not most of the parts to create an AR in 40 or 357 sig. I already have a 9mm AR that I really enjoy.
Does anyone have any experience with ARs in 40 ? Reliability? Special parts ? Recoil?
Suggestions and opinions are much appreciated ! thanks, mike

I built a 10.5 inch barreled pistol in 40 using Stern Defense parts. They have an adapter that goes in the mag well of a standard AR lower to take glock mags.
I like it. No issues I've come across. Recoil is a little more than 5.56. The Stern bolt is solid so you feel it a little more.
