A day late, and a dollar short
| Done! Cancer IS beatable! My wife is a fifteen year breast cancer survivor. Lumpectomy, Lymph nodes removed, Hysterectomy, chemo, and radiation were required. It was a hard fought battle, but she beat it. Always fight, never give up, it can indeed be beaten.

| Good thoughts sent you and your wife's way. Our close friends went through this about a two years and all is well. Stage 2 is a good time to find the cancer and survival rates are very good. Stay strong. God bless you two. |

| Mark IS a rock. He went through heart problems(he even flatlined) a while back. He is a tough cookie and a warm, wonderful human being. quote: Originally posted by LZ_226: M & K,
Prayers sent for Kim's recovery, as well as the strength you'll need to be her rock during this difficult time. She'll beat this and her hair will grow back
God bless you both.

On a side note, Kim works for the local utility company, which is self insured. Apparently this is a first time thing for them and they have decided to put in a provision in to cover wigs for those going through chemo. I thought that was damn nice of them. THANK YOU ALL!!! The outpouring from members has brought me to tears a few times. Proud to be a member of the finest Forum on the web!!!!!!!!!!!

I ended up having a hair party for her where close friends were invited over as she had her hair shaved off. There were tears, laughter and a ton of support. When your wife goes the temporary hair route, find a place that will trim the replacement to match her head/face. It will make a world of difference.
We both knew the hair would be tough, but she has had time to prepare. She currently has 5 different wigs, three of which are going to look quite natural on her once she gets them trimmed tomorrow night, the other two already look damn fine on her. None to soon either, the last two days has it coming out in handfuls. She didn't dare to wash it this morning. She had her second rad/chemo treatment Friday and is holding up quite well to those.
