I used to get all wound up with end of the world stuff, I try to leave it alone nowadays and be more practical with things. I'm not saying these guys aren't practical. Just that I've got way bigger holes to fill in preparing for retirement and life than 250K 22 LR. I wouldn't turn down having that much though Smile

I bought about a thousand rounds years ago in case I wanted to use it and it was in short supply.

Still have it as I never bought a gun in that caliber.

Funny you should ask... Just a few days ago, I "found" 3,000-4,000 rounds that I'd put back for a rainy day and forgot all about. I added that to the 3,000++ that I had in my locker.

About 5,000 rounds. Virtually all of it is Aguila Pistol Match.

Just bought 7k rounds of "Club Match" rounds during a window of ability to buy ammo without going through a dealer locally...I have plenty of CF stuff...together with my 5k rounds of "match stuff" and a few thousand rounds of plinking stuff , I would guess about 20k. I try to keep ammo on hand that works with any .22lr I might pick up, so CCI MiniMags are my bottom line default round

I don't have any high end .22s...top out at a S&W M-41 and Anschutz Sporter... but I do like them and have several that I enjoy shooting

I know that some disagree but with the cost of centerfire ammunition and even the availability at times, I’ve found 22lr platforms, that mirror their big brothers good training. For example, I have a S&W M&P 15-22. The M&P’s controls all mirror an actual AR. I also have a .22lr exchange kit and a Walther PPQ 22.

For this reason, I’ve put in a lot of 22lr over the years. That being said, you can buy 100 rounds of 22lr for about the same price you used to be able to buy 100 rounds of WWB 9mm at Walmart. So, price is relative, at least to some degree.

Since I got my 22/45 Lite last fall I have been buying .22LR again. Probably I am now buying 200-300 rounds a month, enough to cover what I burn at the range and then some. Before my 22/45 arrived, my 800 round stash had no .22LR firearm to expend it, it seemed to last forever Big Grin

I would refer to those two as high end.

Last count was around 30k.
The Obama years really taught me something. Never thought I would literally go years without seeing 22 ammo. But we did.
I have 3 boys and lots of 22s so I vowed never to be without again.

So pretty much buy some whenever I see it.

I have a bunch of Norma Tac-22 and Wolf Target Match, for shooting in my CZ 457 Varmint MTR. It's all sitting right where I stored it; the MTR in the safe yet unshot.
Maybe I'm depressed.

Thank you, I guess it's just relative

The Anschutz is the 1712 Silhouette. While it does share the M-54 action with their top models, it doesn't have the adjustments of them.

I do prefer the M-54 action to the M-64 "club" action, but I really liked the roll-over cheek piece...it had been my "grail" .22 rifle since I was 18. The M-164 sporters are very popular with squirrel hunters locally.

My grail .22kr pistol is the Hammerli 280 or Pardini SP. I really like the look of the Hi-Standard Victor, but the M-41 fell into my lap

While specific numbers would violate Opsec/Persec, suffice to say I find shooting a .22 both very enjoyable and an excellent training tool. For example, shooting on the move, at a steel target with .22 that simulates an AR or 1911 is a great way to practice this skill. And Steel Challenge with a rimfire is just plain fun.

I bought a sh*t-ton because I have a .22lr BCG for my AR.

I have gobs of .22 LR. The stuff was readily available during the 2008 ammo famine, so I figured that would always be the case. The 2013 ammo famine proved me wrong, and I vowed that year to never be caught out again. I made it through the 2020 ammo famine just fine, and I continue to stockpile 20K to 25K of .22 LR.

In addition to weekly bullseye matches, I have a Lage M11/22 kit for my SWD M11/NINE that runs really well. I run about 1000 rounds a month through that kit. It loves CCI Stinger and Velocitor. Cool It's also really good with Mini Mags.

Yes I suppose it is. The sporter I have (1422) may be similar to yours. I always shot it with open sights but pretty much quit when I started having trouble focusing on the rear and front sights, and the target, all at the same time. Now that my eyes are much better I started shooting it again.

I have about 3500 rounds. I keep it for survival ammo in case we’re down to eating small game. Don’t shoot much 22lr anymore since my boys are grown and my grandkids are not shooting yet.

I'm close to around 5000 rounds in different flavors.

Man I have no idea. I have very little "bulk" ammo left, but I've somehow amassed quite an accumulation of probably a couple dozen different types. I used to buy and try quite a bit. One 50 round box of this, a couple 50 round boxes of that, the remainder of a brick of this or that. And because of it I tend not to use it up. I really need to organize it, get it all in one place and burn up all these odds and ends.
