You did the right thing. I bet you'll be feeling huge relief before the week is out.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

cparktdI advise my kids and anyone else that will listen not to quit a job without giving notice and a replacement job lined up but sometime you just gotta cut your losses.
Good luck to you Sir!

12131You did the right thing, but I'm confused about the "

ibandaSometimes it is a good idea to fire your worst client. Let them be someone else's headache. You will find a better one.

I took it as either retired or refusing to work for others.

0-0I´m 61 YO. The chances of me ever finding a job again are nill.
My country is financially in deep doo-doo and the inminent recesion will his us very hard. The virus will only make it much worse but it´s nothing we coudn´t predict (recesion).
It will be a few years before/if we get some sort of normalcy.
The IT field, particularly, is always hit hard due to import duties and protectionism (as if we produced anything related, nonsense). Situation made worse by the factual prohibition of trading foreign currency. and basically the almost nonexistant international trade.
It´s going to be a weird future.

odinWhile I agree with you that it will be difficult to find a job at 61, it is not impossible. Perhaps you can leverage other talents you have into a new career. I had to "recreate" myself in 2001 at 51 and in 2010 at 60.
Don't lose heart and stay optimistic. While you country's situation is bleaker that the U.S., something will come up and you'll be gainfully employed again for people who appreciate your talents...... Good Luck!!
