Way back in the day when we still had horses (4 decades ago), I wore a Milano Larry Mahan western shantung straw hat (similar to this one) which I really liked. https://www.milanohats.com/ima...2020-cropped-min.pdf
Neither of these are straw, but these days when it is hot and I need to be out it's a Dortman Pacific Solarweave.
Or a simple Jaxon summer ivy cap in any number of colors.

I have two Sun Body hats and like them. They have several different styles.
When we had out roof replaced last year, the head worker on the roofing crew had one of those, only the brim was so wide it spanned from shoulder to shoulder, and actually went past each shoulder by a couple inches.
It provided an immense amount of shade. If I were a landscaper, roofer, etc., that's exactly what I'd invest in.
