I am 6 weeks post op from a total knee replacement and happens to run across an old high school friend the other day. He had recently crashed his motorcycle sand was dealing with increased pain in already arthritic knees. He said his EMS/TENS unit really helped with the pain and I should look into it, so I did.

Quite a few sources say EMS can be very beneficial after knee replacement to reduce the loss of strength in quads, etc. SO much positive info I wish I had known 6 weeks ago.

Anyway, just this morning my unit arrived and I am just finishing up m,y first 20 minute “treatment” on my right quad. Definitely weird sensation and no denying it is working the muscle. Will see if it speeds my return to a “regular” gate and improve negotiating stairs which is currently the main struggle I have.

Just wondering if anyone else here uses it and curious about your experiences, suggestions, etc.

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

When I had a full leg cast for a broken leg, TENS was part of the treatment to help with muscle atrophy. Did it work? I honestly cant say. But my Doc insisted on it so I went along with his plan.

I've used it with my lower back on many occasions and found it to be quite helpful.
The unit says not to use multiple times; but I had to do that at work to keep going all day.

The TENS works for a while, but I’m so inured to mine it stopped being effective.

Yes, bought one after shoulder (Labrum) surgery. In PT they hooked me up to one then put the frozen ice deal on the shoulder while it was running. So I bought my own TENS off Amazon and started doing it at home on non PTO days. Several times a day. Along with me doubling PT by doing everything I learned at the gym, got my shoulder back to 100% in professional athlete, or quicker, timeframe. I was back in the gym full time 5 months post OP and they told me it’d be a year.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone
