You guys should not be feeding your pups corn and wheat. Some of the foods listed in this thread are terrible foods to feed your dog.

Get a food that has a better source of carbs and doesn't use corn and wheat as they are allergens to dogs.

Thanks everyone, a lot of good suggestions. I called them this morning and they prefer pedigree dog food. She actually says if they get any thing donated other than pedigree they normally give it away to local struggling dog owners. The dogs are just used to it. They need wet also, she said some of the long term residents are older and can't eat dry food well. Each also gets a toy and treats. They are also in need of blankets, each new dog gets his own, and supplies like laundry detergent and cleaning agents. I'm going to fix them up. I won't give cash, never have, don't know who will end up with it especially at a county run shelter.

I go with Victor Professional for our pups. We find it at our local co-op for about $10 cheaper than Chewy or Amazon

You beat me to it. I was gonna suggest calling them to see what they already have and what works best for them. What you're doing is very generous, so get some input from the recipient and you'll be good to go.

My current Labrador loves this stuff. I think it's the cheapest Walmart sells.

I feed my Rottie/Dobie the High Protein, which is 27% protein and 12% fat. The Ol'Roy Complete has 21% protein and 10% fat is less expensive.

+1 for Fromm. If it helps, your dog won't eat at much of it so it's not as much $$$ as it first seems.
