Have previously gone by Dillon, Henrob, Cobra. Apparently mix better than a Victor style torch, use much less fuel, have a more concentrated flame tip. Supposed to weld aluminum and stainless well, and work well on thin metal, such as butt welding body panels. Appears to cut metal very cleanly and with short learning curve.

Been a long time since I did any serious welding, but I'd give that a try. The OA was always an indispensable tool, I was curious what the max AL was, they say 3/8 not bad. The video answered my other question which was fluxing the rod.

The available electric welding and cutting tech never wholly replaced OA, because of its versatility. And the fact that just adding more hose is easier than dragging a unit around.

If life took different turns I might still be welding for 10+ hours a day, and would be happy to do it. I'll watch a weld puddle and find it more entertaining than your favorite show. I feel the same way about a wood fire.
