Stupid "team building" assignment from the boss...

I need the help of the brain trust...

I am struggling with this part of the assignment. I thought about 3 beautiful, slightly trashy Hollywood ladies... but that is not really appropriate for work.

If you were on a Deserted Island for a year, what three famous people would you take?

Do, Or do not. There is no try.

People who are current and alive or from history?

Ford, Firestone, and Edison.
Just being on one of their camping trips would been spiffy.

I think I’d grab Emeril Lagasse (sp?) first. We all need to eat, right?

Then I’m thinking about shelter. Bob Vila? Nah… let’s take Jasmine Roth instead! Big Grin

After that, perhaps Sammy Hagar, because I’m a fan of his music and he genuinely seems like a ton of fun.

I’m sure I’ll come up with a better list after while, but that’s my list for now.

And do they have to be real people, or can they be fictional characters?

I am going with real people... but if I could take fictional ones, superman, aqua man, and Wonder Woman

So why am I going to be on the deserted island for a year? Is it an island with tree cover, animal life, drinkable water? Am I just there for a year, after which somebody is coming to get me or am I marooned there trying to get off the island on my own? I would say I don't have enough information to make a meaningful decision because it makes a difference if I'm just hanging out for a year versus trying to survive for a year.

I am sure the boss did not think about it that much...

I'd want Bear Grylls. He's a bit of a real life McGyver.

Good one.

I'll second a Bob Villa type

How about Tickle from Moonshiners? He's got stories to tell and you'll be able to drink

Ozzy? Not full blown dimensia Ozzy, but the mostly sober one from the Ozborns TV show days... Lot of stories and it would be fun for the rest of you to figure what he was saying

Won’t be able to use this but Cheech and Chong. Might as well bring a good cook along also.

Those of you who picked Bob Vila are assuming there will be lumber, tools, and electricity to power those tools. It's a deserted island. There should be wood, but that's about it.

If I'm need to survive there for a year, then I want two active Green Berets and one PJ.

If I'm there to enjoy myself, than one of those chefs from those PBS cook shows, Jeff Corwin or an equivalent naturalist/biologist, and Anya Taylor-Joy. Cool

True story, I worked with a guy whose mother was on Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen staff in Spring Green, WI. It was apparently a somewhat bohemian group and each shared duties.

Her specialty was cooking, and she made a stew that was well-liked.

Wright asked her to prepare it for a private dinner for a special guest, which she did, and after dinner the guest asked to meet her to compliment her.

Albert Einstein!

Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Einstein in the same room, honestly I can't think of a third to add.

I view this as a survival exercise, not one of cultural entertainment and fine arts enhancement. But that underlying distinction, grasshoppa, is the real question they are after.

Or if you want to give him a inane politically correct team building answer:

The Strategic Visionary
The Collaborative Problem Solver
The Culture & Well-Being Champion

Can't give you names for those, but I do not miss this environment!

My first thought is:does the 3 people have to survive the year on the island?
