Does anyone have one of these? Think they are good/bad? I ask because they are doing a 2 for 1 and I need 2 manual safes and am looking for something quick access and not 300 apiece.

$130 (well, $60) for a plastic box seems kinda high. Maybe it’s really good plastic.

I mean, isn't everything kinda high now? And I'm not looking for a safe, just a secure(ish) containment unit.

Look at VaultTek. Seems like a better option.

My thoughts are this. Any of these types of safes are really to keep children and irresponsible adults at bay……..and frankly I wouldn’t trust those to do that.

I am not sure what you’re primarily “defending” against but for my own piece of mind I would pony up for steel and simplex.

Now if you are only dotting a I or crossing a T due to some rule per se then sure but if you are protecting against kids etc. then no way.

I do realize that not everybody has the funds to do everything but I truly believe that one shouldn’t go for the absolute minimum when it comes to gun safety/security.

All plastic with plastic internals (including the locking mechanism)?

I think you’d be better off with one of those hollowed out books, honestly. This won’t keep anyone out (including kids) and it’s obviously something interesting.

Checkout the Hornady Alpha Elite lockbox. It’s heavier built than most and with a better keyed lock. I can fit my G19, a full mag and a 33 round happy stick it easily. It will hold nearly any full size handgun.

Check out this video from the LockPickingLawyer. He gets into easily in less than 30 seconds.

Plastic so no real security, but that's kind of par for the course for any of these small vaults. Unless I misunderstand something, my real concern is that there are only 6 possible combinations- that seems like a game to a child. That's like 30 seconds unattended to open it totally by accident.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

I like the Liberty Handgun Vaults - I've had good luck with this one. A little more than the plastic one, but at least not $300. Smile

While I agree, the LPL opens damn near anything fairly easily.

Did you watch the video? You don’t need to be the LPL, there are only 6 combinations. Anyone with 5 seconds can open this.

I’m NOT defending that box and think it’s a poor choice and damn near useless.

I was just saying the LPL can, indeed, open damn near anything. Smile

Yeah, that kinda seals the deal graphically. Thanks!
