Museum of Flight, LeMay for cars, and if you do that, you’ll be right by the Museum of Glass. A block or so south of there is a glass blowing studio with open doors where you can watch them work. Where I used to work is basically exactly in the middle of those locations and it can be a total circus down there, but if you stay on Pacific Ave, it’s not so bad. Can you carry? If you have a permit, does Washington reciprocate with your state? ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

Of course, there's always the Space Needle. The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are interesting. Kerry Park (2nd Ave. and Highland Dr.) has a nice view of the skyline. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

If you want to stay close to Sea Tac, there are a couple of good restaurants. One is just across the street from the Airport - 13 Coins, which is like a Lounge from the 1960's - its updated but that is the feel they're going for. The food is excellent. Another is just a short cab ride away - Claim Jumper, its a small chain restaurant and the food is also excellent. 'veritas non verba magistri'

Thank you to everyone for the ideas, suggestions and insights. I've shared the highlights with her, now if her friend can just understand that it's not just paranoia but well founded advice for the two ladies not to be wandering about. SeaTac does seem to have a day-fee club space on site as well, so that's another more comfortable backup option too. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

If you're trying to stay nearby and the enthusiasm to go beyond the general area is low, there's definitely worse places than SeaTac. - 13 Coins is a long-time solid option and quite literally across the street in an office building. Claim Jumper(?) really....that's a national franchise chain. - If shopping or, time killing is needed, Southcenter Mall in Tukwila is very close. My usual is to go eat at Din Tai Fung, famous for their Taiwanese soup dumplings. - West of SEATAC is the bedroom community of Burien, if I get a hankering for seafood and chowder, I'll run over to Burien Fish House. A solid-spot for all the seafood classics

Really? Ever been there? Didn't think so... Since it is NOT a national franchise chain - located in 4 states doesn't really qualify as "national" in anyone's book, except yours I guess. LOL 'veritas non verba magistri'
