Agreed. My youngest son works at a chain restaurant in Findlay and just found out they are closed as of 9pm.

Governor went on record saying he suspects 100,000 plus positive cases. Panic mode on. What is wrong with people?

Yeah, I used to have a couple of guns.

Ohio's governor is Mike Dewine, a former atty. general. in Ohio. His first term as governor and sweet Lord I hope his last. The man has the brains of a gnat. I am sorry Ohioans have been clobbered by this idiot.

They are doing the same in Connecticut. I have many friends in Ohio and CT that work in the hospitality biz, they are fucked.

Okay, so were told that they're gonna close but I'm not hearing anything about plans for the economic fallout from this stupidity. What is a waiter/waitress going to do when they don't get paid. Most of these people are living paycheck to paycheck. Theyre going to say I don't give a damn about the spread of the flu if I end up getting evicted from my home, can't but food and the repo man takes my car.

And NYC now as well.

Yeah, surely all those bartenders and servers that heavily rely on a paycheck in order to live in New York freakin City won't feel that pinch one bit. Nope, not one bit.

Ridiculous.

We need to start vetting a better Republican candidate now so that person can start building some name familiarization and credibility. Election year will be too late to topple an incumbent in a primary. The Dems may in the fall.

I think every bar or restaurant owner should tell them to pound sand and remain open.

And don't forget the statewide curfew that your totalitarian Governor also implemented starting at 8pm. What possible rationale could there be for that? I guess tyrants will be tyrants.

OK, this shit is getting serious! We've gone out to eat at the same place every Monday for the last 5 or so years. Nice place, close to home, and its won the best steak in NKY every year for that same period. Now the Govinator has mandated they close at 5 PM. Guess what time our reservation is for? You got it, 5PM. So my wife texted out waitress (yes, we're that close) to see what's going on. She said she's not allowed to work. OK, maybe we'll survive.

So a buddy asked me yesterday if we were going to eat today. I wasn't sure because this isn't friggin Ohio were we can't. Wrong.

Its starting to hit home. The wife came home from the grocery and said they didn't have any winter black cherries (Argentina).

Guess I'll find a few extra minutes to load up a few more guns. Gotta be ready to ward off the unwashed hoards. And I'll need some help here. Is a double barrel shotgun more intimidating than a Shockwave? Should I just sit out on my porch with the double over my lap? Big Grin Probably not, I'd just fall asleep.

Eat early. Move it up to 4PM?
Or are they closed already?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

He's relying on the same statute that permitted enforcement of blackouts during WWII, including among other things-- no joke, and explicitly enumerated in his Executive Order-- commandeering "personal services" and property. Closure orders and restrictions are delegated to the state Emergency Management Coordinator, e.g. the Superintendent of the State Police.

I dislike this state. Intensely.

In my town (Naples, FL), they declared a state of emergency today, but the mayor said they aren't closing bars and restaurants because they don't have the authority to do it. They just recommend that all businesses abide by CDC guidelines.

Well my wife did get temporarily laid off today, this over the top panic is being driven by DeWine. My 2nd daughter was crying earlier today, she runs her own nail/manicure shop and all the sheep on social media had her convinced there was going to be marshall law and no work for her

Michigan has followed suit, all Bars, restaurants, Gyms, and Casino's are closed as of today. On the plus side drive up windows and delivery's are permitted at this point. Going forward the only businesses that are guaranteed to continue to provide service are Grocery's, Pharmacies, Doctors, and Hospitals. Leads me to suspect at some point they may closed down the gas stations to keep people off the roads.

I've stopped counting.

Statistically that would save more lives.
