Lawyers, Guns and Money
| quote: In an interview with Billboard magazine, the country singers told the publication they are concerned for Americans' safety.
“Look, I’m a bird hunter — I love to wing-shoot,” McGraw, 50, said. “However, there is some common sense that’s necessary when it comes to gun control. They want to make it about the Second Amendment every time it’s brought up. It’s not about the Second Amendment.”
Hill, 50, revealed the couple had friends in attendance at the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Oct. 1 when Stephen Paddock opened fire from his hotel room at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, killing 58 people and wounding nearly 500 others.
“In reference to the tragedy in Las Vegas, we knew a lot of people there,” Hill said. “The doctors that (treated) the wounded, they saw wounds like you’d see in war. That’s not right. Military weapons should not be in the hands of civilians. It’s everyone’s responsibility, including the government and the National Rifle Association, to tell the truth. We all want a safe country.”
"It’s not about the Second Amendment.”??? says Tim McGraw, Constitutional lawyer and scholar...
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Nailed it. I stopped listening to "country" radio stations a long, long time ago.

| Hai Tim and Faith, I know you are country pop has-beens, but can you spare a brother a couple million? Now that our government is all about Just Us, that couple million would allow me to buy the influence that I need to make the government work for me. Otherwise, I am keeping my military-style bird hunting piece with the thing that goes up and the chainsaw bayonet. Hugs and kisses, MitchbSC P.S. One side of my family was marched to the woods and shot at 3 AM by a government that was all about Just Us. So, fuck you.
They don't think it be like it is, but it do. |
