to be honest, an ipad is probably more immune to such things compared to, say, windows.

I'd be likely to ignore it unless you entered in some personal information if it prompted for it.

on the other hand, you may get even more spam and similar things in e-mail, if they can see that you and uniquely you clicked on the link.

Probably too late but in the future, get the link and paste it into the address bar, then go to their website. Does it seem legit? I don't click on links in SigForum (my most trusted web site), I get the link and go from there.
