I read this the other day and haven't seen it posted here. If I missed it, I apologize for the double post.

Obviously, there are few details and we may never know the true story as to what happened. Also, very strange that they were reportedly such good friends according to the town's mayor.

Wow. Alcohol in some people causes extreme personality changes. RIP Lucky Miller.

That is so true, C1steve. Alcohol is a powerful drug.

There had to have been more than alcohol involved.
Countless people get drunk every day but don’t kill anyone—and especially not good friends.
Any more than the countless people who own guns kill anyone.

When I first saw this story, I immediately thought of the story above where a New Mexico officer killed his partner. What drove that one home to me was that they were warrants officers on an extradition run.

I was an officer assigned to our warrants office, and one of my duties was extradition runs. My partner and I were on the road about 2 weeks about of a month picking up prisoners wwanted out of our jurisdiction in several states by vehicle - all of them by air.

So, since we were in the car for hours a day, slept in the same hotel room, ate all meals together, things really got old and stale. I don't think I ever wanted to murder my partner, but we surely did have some heated exchanges during our time as partners. Still, this is another tragedy.

I completely agree, Sigfreund. Much more to the story.

ftttu, I remember that story well but I never learned the real story. It may have never been reported. Both are so sad and so tragic.
