Good news for 2A in D.C.; however, it'll probably go to the Supreme Court.

Now in Florida |
There is a good chance that this gets reversed by an en banc hearing. This is the circuit that the Dems packed with liberals when Harry Reid nuked the filibuster on lower court judges. If that happens, it is less likely to be granted cert at SCOTUS. Good news but too early to get excited. They got very lucky with a panel of 3 judges appointed by Republicans.

Striker in waiting |
Not holding my breath, but if the en banc panel doesn't reverse, we'll have a split in the 4th circuit (with the Maryland decision in Woolard) and a much greater likelihood that SCOTUS will take notice. D.C.'s law mirrors our own "good and substantial" clause, which is basically what makes us "may issue" (but not unless you're special). -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

I'm having a hard time understanding this argument. Like many other heavily urbanized areas in the country, DC is part of a clump of development that spills over into, what, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware? There's no point in trying to regulate DC as though the District somehow exists in a vacuum.

There's nothing to understand in it. She doesnt want guns to be legal, and couldn't care less what the constitution says. Her opinion is just wordsmithing, meant to take some glob of bullshit and make it sound reasonable.

Sounds good to me. We need this in Texas for Constitutional Carry.

This is good news for California as this ruling is opposite the 9th. So hopefully multiple conflicted district courts will cause the supremes to finally take it up. And god willing some of the commies on the supremes will have gone to their reward or retire and DJT will appoint more quality legal minds. Wheels of justice seem to grind very very slowly but they do grind.
