Moved into a house and replaced all the smoke alarms. The 6-pack was more economical than buying individual. I have one left over to give away.

FIRST ALERT BRK 3120B-6 Hardwired Smoke Detector with Photoelectric and Ionization with Battery Backup As stated, it's a hardwired smoke detector with photoelectric and ionization and battery back up. Product PDF is here.

Rules are:

1) Most of your recent posts aren't just for joining karmas.

2) You will actually use it as I could just as well keep it in my garage for no purpose.

3) I'll pick whenever I think is the appropriate time but it's not like I'm going to keep this thread going as I just want it out of my hands and to someone who can use it.

Unlucky #1 ... I can use as I do have a wired box for this smoke alarm in my garage. Currently have a non-wired in the garage that I can use in a different location.

Thank you.

I’ll take a chance.

The one we have downstairs is too damn sensitive and goes off every time I fry something or sear meat on the stove. Being “connected”, when it goes off all the others go off too.

I got tired of it it so just disconnected that one but my wife isn’t happy and thinks we will die tragically and horrifically.

Maybe a different brand/model would solve the problem.

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

FYI guys, you can't mix smoke detector brands. To use this you must have BRK or First Alert detector of the same type or compatible type model of same brand.

If you detector says firex or kidde on it you can't use it, or if it says BRK or First Alert, but is really old it may not work.

Rey,

Thank you, you have email.

Skins2881, thank you also. It’s probably a good time to replace the upstairs ones too! Looks like I’ve got some work to do.

Can you explain? I have 5 of these installed along one of the same brand but with a 10-year battery back-up, and one google nest smoke detector. I just didn't connect the third wire to the Google nest as there's no third wire on the Google nest. I also have two additional ADT smoke detectors but they're not hard wired.

Well, I installed the smoke detector that Rey sent, ordered two I thought from Amazon but I fat fingered and ordered only one so another one on order.

Just a reminder, check your detector’s replace date. The ones I replaced had a “replace by” date of 2005 molded into the cover. Kinda went over that a bit……

Glad it worked out for you. You reminded me to check if I have reminders set up to change the batteries next year.
