I got an email from Sig promoting this book. Seems pricey- anyone seen one or know anything about it?

Their previous 1911 book is a work of art.

Good art costs money. I value good art. Sigs are good art.

I went ahead and ordered one, self-justifying it as "a Christmas present for my wife." She is a big fan of Sigs, but I don't think she is on their mailing list, or maybe we will end up with two.

I ordered one as well-a good number of excellent reviews. Apparently it's been out for close to a year, but I hadn't seen it until I got the email from Sig this morning.

I have three of his books with two more on the way. Yes, they're expensive but the photos are beautiful and there's tons of interesting information. My first one was German arms of WWII signed by Vickers. He was up at Sig a couple years ago and I got to meet him.

It's coffetable book. Oversize and thick. Excellent pictures, light on information. A good companion to Vetter or Döbeli.

My dad gave me a copy for Christmas 2020. It is a beautiful book. Too bad I don't have a coffee table.

Excellent coffee table book IMO!

Good coffee table book that could possibly invoke some interesting converations. But also be careful as to sees it because the conversations could be coming from the left side. ......................................... drill sgt.

Guns should be treated with as much artistic reverence as musical instruments, architecture, vehicles or, any other topic of interest. For the longest time, it was gun owners themselves who'd poo-poo such a book, bemoaning and bellyaching over the cost, trying to minimize such things by claiming they could find something similar at the local Walmart. The Left can't fathom such a topic could find such artistic light.

Its time gun owners elevate themselves to a more sophisticated level to support their interests.

I don't put gun stickers on my vehicle, but I'm certainly not worried about anyone who is in my house seeing the book.

Take a seat to the far left on your sofa and all conversation will come fom the right side. Problem solved.

But, what you describe are the folks that you see in your LGS.

$500 Glock - check
$5 holster - check
20 round box carry ammo - check
Training? That’s too expensive.

And then they began to buzzword their way out of it. And gun owners are all about justifications and buzzwords.

I own a copy. It's a well done book for pictures showing various models and marking types. It's not authoritative history of SIG, but it does contain info on the various models. The pictures of the various models including prototypes and European variants is very impressive.

Vickers' self professed love of the 210 is on display with almost 100 pages (21-115) of mages of the 210 and it's various variants.

He dose jump a number of models to focus on the 250/320/M18/M17.

Larry gets cool points for saying nice things about the 2022, but he only gives it two pages.

Iirc, you have a couple of excellent books that would look great on such an item.
