My contribution to that loss was only about $400, but I still feel good about it

$150m lost from 400+ stores ...honestly I was expecting it to be more, however DSG was never known for moderate let alone premium price-point firearms.

Apparently the CEO thinks it was worth it. Wonder if the shareholders and the employees soon to be out of a job would agree.

The real loss will come from field & stream with their recent hunting decision, and the regular Dick’s haven’t been through a hunting season yet since their decision.

It’s not just the firearms. Their anti-freedom stance on firearms will cost them in all of their core businesses. I predict Field and Stream will eventually close, and the Golf Galaxy stores will ultimately fold into Dick’s stores. I go out of my way to not support any part of Dick’s. CEO’s of publicly traded companies should not be allowed by the Board of Directors to politicize a company. Both the CEO and the board exist to benefit the shareholders, I do not see how these idiots continue to remain employed.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

They get those positions, and keep them, because they are supported by the board members. Those board members control enough stock (votes) to assure themselves a continued VERY LUCRATIVE existence, with no responsibility to anyone but themselves. I saw the same thing happen at IBM when the board paid Akers more than $2million bonus for his stellar performance as CEO. IBM had never paid bonuses to CEOs before that. And that $2.4mega bucks was paid for losing the company a huge amount, first time in company history.
