Older style Speed Queen mechanical here. I went through several different brands in the few years preceding (thankfully I was able to sell them off without too much of a loss).

I have nothing but good to say about Speed Queen. I wanted a washer that filled all the way up and beat the shit out of my clothes...I got it.

You won't ever be able to convince me that a "washer" that only puts about a quart of water in and rolls the clothes around while tying them into knots does a better job at cleaning.

Old school all the way!

If my Speed Queen ever shits the bed, I'll be looking for an antique wringer washer. The only that's better IMO.

Did I mention it does laundry twice as fast?

I might do some more laundry just for fun today.

I'm grateful I bought two used sets of the previous model of Speed Queens before they made the changes in 2018. Brad warned us while he was still around. Wow.

Jesse, I think you made a good choice. Can you tell us the exact model Maytag you bought?

The very first link in OP is the one I got.

Did have a hiccup today. One of three comforters I washed is extremely heavy, got caught in the agitator. Had to unwrap it and do second rinse and spin cycle.

Well yeah, but then the dryer takes twice as long.

Whereas with HE the washer takes twice as long but the dryer takes half as long so it works out about the same.

Anyways glad you enjoying your purchase and it’s cleaning well.

Not been a problem at all, the washer has in no way effected the dryers capability. I did have some concern about the spun speeds 700RPM Vs 800 after reading some reviews saying clothes came out dripping wet. Luckily for me that fear was unfounded as those suffering from extra wet clothes were either incapable of doing laundry properly or had defective units. All loads still dry in one dryer cycle, except comforters which didn't dry in one cycle with the previous HE washer.
