How best to clean a leather office chair? Login/Join

Hopefully we have an expert on this issue. I have a brown leather office chair and over time as I come into work with wet hair it has started to look dirty where I lean back. Rather than ruin the leather trying to clean it on my own, I was wondering the best way to clean the leather while preserving the color?

Thanks!

I use Leather Honey cleaner and conditioner on my leather furniture. It does a great job.

Watching this thread. There are a lot of choices. I've been using Lexol cleaner and conditioner for my leather couches and car seats. Seems to work well for armrests and such - sweat and lotion and stuff. No complaints. But not sure if it's the best product available.

If you have a Tack Store close by they will have several leather care products, go price a good saddle and you'll find out why they carry the good stuff. Tractor Supply will have them as well, but I like to find a good ol Tack store.

A nice saddle soap will help clean up the leather and remove all the human oils. Once you get it nice and clean then you can put on a conditioner.

I've used Leather New Saddle Soap, on chairs and even the leather seat on my motorcycle. Does a great job.

Fiebings has Mink Oil and Saddle oil, either would be good for your chair.

Can you help with cleaning vs conditioning products?

What makes a good cleaner? Conditioner? And recommendations for each? Does it depend on leather and use? Saddle vs couch vs gloves?

Thx for the suggestions. We have a couple of farm/ranch stores in town who sell saddles and other tack. I'll go down this week and check out what they have

Saddleback Leather recommends cleaning leather with Chamberlains Leather Milk. I use it and it is amazing stuff.

Bickmore products.

I've used Bick 4 leather conditioner, on holsters and tack. No color change, good stuff.

Bick 1 is a leather cleaner, but I've never tried it.
