uhm, what happened in in "82" ? Marriage, seminary, or something? That said, I still go to the local bar to have a burger or fish dinner, or catch up with a few locals or friends now and then. Don't do the "clubs" with loud music, covers, memberships or lines. Partly getting older and lost hearing, and partly it just isn't what I like or the crowd I care for. ________________________________________________________ You never know...

I was not aware that the “club” was actually bender’s front yard. When I am up in the Club, I enjoy reading on the internet how a certain section of the population who does not go to the Club is annoyed by the mere existence of a place they choose not to go. Fortunately I actually prefer a drinking and dining establishment that also offers the karaoke so I just don’t have to worry about what others think about Da Club.

No place to go and all day to get there |
Years ago, work traveling in south Alabama, a bar was someplace to go for a meal, some drinks, talk to folks and listen to the band. A club, you paid $5 to get in, they asked if you had a gun and if you said no, they gave you one. Just another day in paradise. NRA Georgia Carry

"Clubs" were discotheques. Where people danced. They rarely exist anymore. Today everyone is on their phones sitting at a bar or throwing hands in the air in the corner. They don't dance. So yes it's all bars (and bottle service). They nothing of the "club". What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

NO, it was good, you got it out of your system. I did it too then at 26 years old looked around and said this is stupid. I have other friends and they're in their early 40's and going to night clubs and strip clubs and this and that still......THAT is a waste of time. Now, I have ZERO interest of doing any of that.

A day late, and a dollar short |
I used to spend a lot of time in bars, up till about age 40. Lot of money spent having a lot of fun, but then just like that , I couldn't handle the hangovers anymore. Now at 65 years of age, I realize a good part of my youth was spent as a (wannabe) drunk. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member

In my 30's I worked weekends in a dance club. Two stories, band or DJ, six bars. That was a nightclub. On our break we would go across the street to a bar for a beer. Living the Dream

Never miss an opportunity to STFU |
I have been playing music in bars and clubs for 5 decades and still have great fun doing it. The difference I always saw was that clubs have specific members who pay fees/dues/membership. Bars are open to the public and anyone can one in. Never be more than one step away from your sword-Old Greek Wisdom

We all have our definitions. Guess a bunch of it relates to state laws. I vaguely remember the Varsity Mug Club, the Nebish, and another one over to the east. I really didn't care what you called them. Drinking was to ease the pain of not getting laid. So we did get drunk more often than not, but didn't get any young beauties knocked up. These days I don't even have a "bar" to call my own. But man were there some great happenings (someone above called them stories.) I'd say if Bendable never got laid, he most certainly was doing some thing wrong. Probably spending too much time with his buddies and none meeting girls. Unless he was attending gay bars..
