Well, had the usual blood draws and hooked up to a monitor. Bloodwork was fine. I had no episodes until they were about ready to kick me loose, then I had several. Monitor showed “Frequent PVCs”, “multi focal PVCs”, “Bigeminy”. They referred me to a cardiac electrophysiologist and sent a scrip for Xarelto. I contacted my GP who got me in this morning and ran some EKG strips which were unremarkable and he looked at the strip on my Kardia device and explained what was going on but that it wasn’t A fib. He called my cardiologist who told him to send me over. The cardiologist reviewed the data from my device, the hospital and my GP and concurred that it was not A fib. I asked about the Xarelto and he said don’t take it. It is a good and powerful drug but I don’t need it. He also said I could see the electrophysiologist, they work together a lot, but that he would concur with not taking the Xarelto. So my cardiologist said he could up one of my meds but he’d rather not without further investigation. Waiting to get insurance approval for a Holter monitor. He also stated the PVC issue is not a major concern but does need to be addressed and dealt with and that it is apparently a common issue with many cardiac patients. So that’s that. Back to work tomorrow, just taking it a little more easy than the last few days…. | |||
