It's time to shell out for a couple of new tires for my ancient Pasquali tractor.

Old tires are marked as 6.50-16. They're R1/Ag tires.

I can find 6x16 or 7x16 fairly easily, 6.50 not so much.

So, couple questions:

1. I'm assuming the rim is 6.5" wide. I'm also guessing I could go up to a 7 or down to a 6 without issues. Yes/No/Maybe?

2. It's 4 wheel drive, so ideally all tires should be the same size. Are there likely to be height/diameter differences if I go up or down a half-inch on the width?

I'd rather not spring for 4 new tires right now. I'll put the new ones on the back (don't use 4wd that much) and the two best old ones on the front.

Problem solved, just gonna bite the bullet and put 4 new 7.00x16's on it and be done with it.

I know nothing about tractor tires. But, why not just call the people you're buying the tires from and ask them?

I did Big Grin

Due to the fact that it's 4wd and the difference in tire height between a 6.50 and a 7.00 I had to bite the bullet and buy 4 new so they'd match. Would've had to go there eventually anyway.

Local tire outfit wanted $120 per, I got them online for $78, and will gladly pay the tire place to pop new valves in the rims, mount the tires and dispose of the old ones.

When you get a flat tire on this, does it go "wop, wop, wop"?

Razz

I would go with R4 tires. They are more versatile.

Out of curiosity I looked up Pasquali tractors online. Pretty cool concept for a tractor!

It is a pretty neat little rig. With a 20 HP one-lung diesel and a 9 speed trans, it'll put a LOT of power on the ground for it's size.

Sure would benefit from power steering tho. Has a wicked case of bump-steer, you learn REAL quick not to hook your thumbs over the spokes...

Not commonly available in the size I need, plus not great in snow and mud.

My distributor shows an Alliance 324 in your size. They are currently out of stock.

Most likely true. We don't have much snow or mud here in AZ. Smile My R4's are the best solution here.

R4's are a great tire for many folks. More traction than a full turf tire, tear the ground up less than a full Ag tire, tend to be more puncture resistant.

Just not right for my situation. Dealer looked at me funny when I ordered my Kubota with Ag tires on it. Many people use compact utility tractors as glorified lawn mowers, I use mine as an actual tractor. Usually... Big Grin
