I rale against the commercials that are blatantly racist. Now a lot of theses "messages" are depicting the middle and upper class white people as stupit. Whatever the ad is selling the white actor has the problem and the person of color (usually a light complected) has the answer. and I dont consider myself racist, only lookin for that level field. ___________________ "the world doesn't end til yer dead, 'til then there's more beatin's in store, stand it like a man, and give some back" Al Swearengen

Liberty Mutual - what can I say about this travesty of air time Progressive Insurance - right up there with Liberty Arbys - get over it - James Earl Jones is dead, why keep faking his voice? just about any pharmaceutical ad - the side effects and dangers are worse than the condition you're trying to flog and the list goes on...

Like I said, the ads reflect what draws their target audience. The first one on your list, Liberty Mutual, spends $100 million on marketing. Link Marketing is actually highly quantitative. The spectacular marketing failures over time prove they're the exception over the rule. They don't really care whether their advertisements are dumb as long as people remember them and, more importantly, people remember them when those people are ready to make a purchase. Companies fight over a fraction of a a percent in market share and a lot of quantitative analysis goes in even before an advertising campaign rolls out and during execution to find out its effectiveness. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I laughed at that one too. I'll take water conservation seriously when they ban swimming pools.

If I could be king for a day (don't worry, I'm a generous king), I'd ban drug commercials, with their laundry lists of side effects, some of which are worse than the original ailment, like flesh-eating bacterial infections in your "taint."

TV ads and especially campaigns are getting more stupid everyday. Seems like the ad agencies are in compaction to see who can outdo the other with the dumbest, most annoying and let's not forget the most "woke" ads ever. Even many of the streaming services now throw in some ads unless you buy their premium level. Sigh As already mentioned, that JJ (dine-o-mite) ad makes me cringe. The obvious conclusion is the target audience is getting dumber by the day. I'll mute the commercial and maybe pay short term for ad free channels. Hulu will not be renewed

Charmin toilet paper and the bears. They used to be just stupid. Lately they're becoming downright obnoxious. Mr. Whipple in the "Please don't squeeze the Charmin" campaign was much better, IMO. The Charmin bear commercials are enough to put me off their product permanently. "America is at that awkward stage. ^^^ Ya, Charmin's "Enjoy the go" catchphrase is pretty annoying to me.

Seriously? I hadn't caught that. (We DVR 99-44/100% of OTA TV content.) That's even more obnoxious. Why don't they just say "Charmin: Have a delightful crap?"
