All NPR stations aren’t the same, my local one is terrible… all they ever discuss is gender politics and racism… Boston’s NPR is more even handed and quite good.
Yeah, NPR’s reporting style is ‘quite good’ at reporting a polished and professional ‘sounding’ so-called “news” story, while they deliberately LEAVE OUT the important FACTS that do not support their narrative.
NPR needs to take a collective flying fuck and be defunded!!

We have 3 NPR affiliate stations here locally. The ONLY Public Radio station that I listen to is the one playing CLASSICAL music.

Yes, defund them immediately! There are so many of these stations across the US and they gobble up bandwidth. Cut the funding and some of the stations may be taken off the airways.

91.9 MHz and below has been reserved for non-commercial / Education stations (NCE's).
Some exceptions to this rule, but that's the way it is. College stations (in general) end up at 91.9 and below as well since they too are NCE's.
These NCE stations don't pay a license fee, FWIW.
NCE's were generally lower power stations, and at the time there were some small technical reasons based on engineering to put lower power stations at the lower part of the band, but I won't get into that right now.
