How little integrity must one have to broadcast opinions and statements to the world, and then, when confronted with these words and beliefs, deny them?
Everyone knows she is lying, and yet she sits there and denies the truth- under oath, I presume, but regardless of legalities, this is a person with no honor and no apparent integrity, and she should resign.
When originally conceived, there was a need for both NPR and PBS. Now both are redundant and run by woke, progressive, utterly partisan political hacks.
Like her or not MTG, took her to task too.

If they are funded by their "members" then so be it. But the rest of us should not be forced to participate.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I love how they mitigate how much their federal subsidy is. If it’s so insignificant, you won’t miss it.

She looks and sounds hungover. I hope it is just a cold.
But, yes, drop the federal funding of the Left's National Pravda Radio and the Pravda Broadcasting System. We have plenty of DNC propaganda outlets without forcing the taxpayer to pay for more. Let the DNC cover the shortfall.

Glad that MTG held her feet to the fire. Long past time for the USG and we federal taxpayers to cut off support to this progressive, leftwing entity.

Years ago I enjoyed listening to NPR. It was not political and rather educational. Some of the programs were a half hour in duration and really covered a subject well.

Perhaps a different approach, continue to fund, however, they must broadcast equal opportunity for all sides. You put up a anti-Trump article but it must be followed by a pro-Trump retort. Post an anti conservative show, followed by replays of Rush's Broadcasts !
If pulling the funds doesn't shut them down as they alternative funding they'll just continue to spew propaganda, we can't shut them down, so force them to become neutral in their broadcasts, nah, probably not...

I’ve been in favor of defunding for quite awhile. If it was worthy programming it would have sponsors wanting to buy in.

The funding amounts to roughly $530 Million to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Yes, significant. That's enough money to maintain a lot of miles of roads, etc.

They already have corp sponsors.
Federal law says They can't air Commercials because of their broadcast license being "non-commercial / Educational" class, but they use a loophole where they can state "facts" like:
"Programming made possible by XYZ Corp. XYZ Corp provides the following services....."
It's a really stupid loophole.

Regardless of any political groups affiliation, these entities should not be funded by anything but private money. They should have been defunded decades ago. Nobody should have to fund any group that argues against their best interests.

Nightly Business was my favorite program and watched or recorded it every night. Paul Kangas did a great job and had some interesting people on the program. He retired in 2010 and the following shows went down hill.

I remember NPR as being very political except for Click and Clack, the Tappet brothers.

Maher is chairmen of the board at Signal, too.
SIGNAL SCANDAL (via @Grok ): Yes, as of March 27, 2025, Katherine Maher is still the Chair of the Board of the Signal Foundation. There has been no public announcement or credible evidence indicating that she has stepped down from this role. Her bio on the Signal Foundation’s website continues to list her as the Chair, and recent discussions on platforms like X, as well as various articles from 2024, still refer to her in this capacity without noting any change.

Maher likely feigned surprise when informed that all 87 of the news staff were registered dems, how could this happen without management knowing about it?
