For Christmas this year my wife got me a remote start for my Sierra pickup that I purchased used this summer (2021). Not only that, but she installed it. Took her about 45 minutes including the software download. My knees are shot so I couldn't do it myself. Love that woman! Living the Dream | ||

I see my ortho on Monday. I have a replacement knee that went bad and the other knee also now needs replacement. Going to ask if they can do both at the same time and send me to a rehab instead of discharging me home. Living the Dream | |||

I work in ortho and only in very limited circumstances ( like once every couple years ) do we perform surgery on both at the same time. When you say go bad do they just need to do a liner exchange or will it be a total overhaul? If just a liner, probably could do both. At least you have experience knowing what to expect, but both at the same time for 99+% of the population is a VERY bad idea. Our criteria to do both is someone young with a very high base level of fitness. People like high performing athletes / gym junkies that are very strong upper body with low body fat we have done it, your average patient big no way | |||

Thanks for the input, it is appreciated. Last summer I had my right knee scoped. At the time the doctor recommended a replacement and I didn't want to do it yet. The summer before I had the left knee replaced and it never felt right. In September while playing with my grandson, I tweeked it and it has been extremely painful ever since. On Monday I'll get some answers and a game plan. 3 summers ago I had shoulder surgery. I would like a summer without a surgery lol. Living the Dream | |||

My wife was the yougest double knee replacement her doctor ever did not sure of the age between 40-45 and she was in terrible shape. Ended up screwing up her shoulder  . But her docs comment was you literally dont have a good leg to stand on ! | |||

When I was engaged, my wife had a remote start installed on the truck I drove as a birthday gift. That thing had 1/4 mile range and the best feature was a built in temp sensor. If you parked outside during the winter, which I did, the truck would turn on for 15 or 20 minutes when it hit a certain temperature to keep the oil from turning to molasses. Sounds like you picked a winner rtquig! | |||

I had a Viper alarm with remote start on my 2005 GMC HD. I swear that sucker would work from a quarter mile away too. On my current 2018 Sierra work provided vehicle and my 2025 Sierra HD personal vehicle they both came with remote starting and I can use either the key FOB or the MY GMC app on my phone to start them. I always beep the horn several times first to get any critters that might be under the hood a wake up call to GTFO! | |||
