chbibcA predator on my deck
Yesterday as I was working on my deck I became aware of this beauty regarding me with a watchful eye. She's back again today. She is always welcome here.

GustoferOne of the few bugs I really like. I've entertained buying a mess of them to release, but I don't think they'd play nice with my bees.

Pipe SmokerDragonflies are among my favorites. Such wonderful fliers. And they kill mosquitoes.
Dragonfly larvae kill LOTS of mosquito larvae.

jed7s9bI displaced one with the blower after mowing. It ended up on the porch later that day. It was neat watching the back and forth dance as it slowly moved across the porch. A grasshopper landed close off to the side but no excitement.

konata88Cool pics!
We see a couple of mantis, dragonfly and lady bugs a year. Wish we saw more - I like watching them.

egregoreFossil dragonflies have been found with four-
foot wingspans.

Good thing humans weren't around then. One of those could carry off a child.

ridewvI noticed two praying mantis yesterday when I was mowing near my fire pit. Needless to say I waited for them to move. Then in the garage near a window a dragonfly tangled in a spider web. I pulled it out but it couldn't fly with pieces of the web on the wings so I had to carefully pull them off. I was happy to see it fly off.
No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.
