Link to original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAh5cMUj200 Summary for those who don't watch the video: The media has reported on FBI statistics showing a "spike" in reported hate crimes from 2015 to 2016, linking it to the Trump and the election. However, they don't bother reporting that: * Over the last 20 years the number of reported hate crimes has dropped by about half, despite an increase in the number of law enforcement agencies reporting over the same time frame. * The increase is roughly 5%; given the overall trend, this is not a "spike." * The biggest issue: Of the increased number of hate crimes reported, the single largest group are hate crimes committed against whites. The number of hate crimes against blacks were actually lower in 2016 than in 2015.This message has been edited. Last edited by: henryarnaud, "It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. ...wait 'til they start reporting black on white crime as a 'hate crime'... stupid term anyway - either way. ---------------------------------- Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Crimes motivated by hate of one kind or another have been around since there have been humans. There's no question about that. But trying to make hate itself a crime has problems.
We know they won't, and there is exactly the problem. It can't be applied fairly. I hope one day these laws are found unconstitutional.
