4x5Has anyone seen the line of satellites in the sky?
We saw them tonight - probably 40-50 satellites passing overhead in a straight line. It was really weird - I've never seen anything like it before.
It appears to be part of a Space-X plan to launch over 12,000 satellites into low-earth orbit in order to make the internet available worldwide.

This was my first thought bout this. The scene from Wall-E where the Earth is in a bubble of space trash.

konata88If/when these things fail, do they hit ground with severe casualties or do they burn up in atmosphere? It’s a lot to come raining down.
I’m reminded of Dead Like Me.

They'd have to be massive to not burn up, you are safe.

Scooter123I'm not particularly fond of Elon Musk and this is just another reason to distrust this slimeball. After he gets his 42,000 satellite constellation up his next step may be to announce that he is going to charge a toll for any space vehicle passing thru his belt of satellites.
I've stopped counting.

I saw them about two weeks ago moving west to east about 45 minutes to an hour after sunset.

46and2I've seen these films, and I feel confident this is a mistake, a day we humans will ultimately rue.
Someone needs to stop Boston Dynamics and Musk and Zuckerburg and Google and Amazon and Apple, I mean SkyNet, before it's too late.
And I'm only half kidding.

tsmccullThe string of 50 or 60 from the launch a few days ago appeared in the sky last night at 10:08 PM. From my location they all appeared to pass between the crescent Moon and Venus. Pretty show!

slyguySaw another string of them over my neck of the woods sitting on the deck Friday 4-17.
I was a little stunned at first, then just mad. It really seems like a distraction from nature.
Cheers~
