Got it! And before the tyrants of Virginia clamp down and make it "only one gun per month" (something else I've found irrational: what's the point of that?) I got my Seecamp LWS32. Already cleaned and lubed. Got a new home for it, too!

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Get the 75BD. You will not be disappointed.

We stopped by the LGS a couple of weeks ago. He had a P10F and an SP-01 Phantom. The wife and I held both: there's no comparison. The SP-01 followed us home: the accuracy is amazing.

I have been without a 1911 since the early 80’s. No longer.
Look what followed me home today!
Slightly used WC X-TAC.

Pretty mild purchases this year as I blew the budget on a surprise Disney trip for the kids. I picked up a P322 Tacpac to match my P365, which I'm super excited to take out.

I have been considering a S&W 640 M640 PRO SERIES PERFORMANCE CENTER 357 MAGNUM REVOLVER. After reading several online reviews, I am hesitant to drop big bucks when the quality is uneven (e.g., sights off and trigger pull gritty), and the trigger pull is 10 lbs. plus. Welcome input from the hive on whether or not this revolver is worth the high price point. Thank you.

Most of the J-Frames I've bought in recent years have required some cleaning up of the internals to be really good. Nothing too crazy, just some light stoning/buffing of the parts, and cleaning up some debris left over from the manufacturing process. I had one with a sticky firing pin and another with a DA sear that was getting stuck on some small leftover metal shavings from the manufacturing process that got left inside. None of those things was a huge deal as they were easy to rectify, but you have to be comfortable popping the side plate off and pulling the guts out. I did not have to do anything to my 640 Pro...it was good out of the box.

I don't change springs because I don't want light strikes, and I've had that happen with aftermarket spring kits. Yes, the factory pull is pretty heavy, but most of mine have cleaned up to where they're very smooth and consistent. To me a J-Frame is a pocket gun, and one of my favorite things about them in that application is the extra safety provided by that long heavy trigger pull.

With a small amount of work I have some little revolvers that I'm incredibly happy with. My 640 Pro and 642UC are probably the smoothest and nicest to shoot. The 642 is lighter and a little nicer to carry, but the 640 Pro will shoot magnums relatively comfortably, and that extra 1/8" of barrel makes more of a velocity difference than you'd think. It's as light as I'd want to go with a Magnum revolver.

Assuming you're good with the inherent limitations of the J-Frame platform, the 640 Pro is an excellent example of the type and I think you'll be happy with it.

Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol 12 gauge.

Sig Sauer P226 Tacops.

Gen 3 Glock 34.

All are very lightly used and in layaway for a song. My LGS is very good to me.

I don't plan on buying any. Not that it means anything.

I bought a CMMG Banshee in 9mm just ahead of the election so that's my purchase for 24 and 25.

Not planning on buying anything unless another Springfield M1922 M2 with 03 furniture magically appears on Gunbroker. We're having basement/foundation done for a planned 2026 move. I don't want to add anything else I'll have to haul out of there.

I’m at a point where there are little to no guns I’m wanting that I don’t already have.
I’ve stopped carrying my Glocks for the various P365s I have.
That said Sig Fuse has my attention.
While I don’t really need a 5th 365 or the Fuse specifically as my Specter fills that role for me.
But it got my attention the moment I saw & held it.
So, I have one on my gun list.

I used to carry a 642 and a 638 pretty regularly. The 640 in .357 is a step up from those in terms of recoil (in fact, even the hottest +p 38 special feels shootable compared with .357 in a J-frame). If you are willing to step up slightly in size and cost, the 627 performance center has an 8 Rd capacity, is cut for moon clips, and uses an N frame, which will hold up better over time to .357 level loads. https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/n-frame-170133

If you do decide to open up the side case on your S&W, make sure you have the right size screwdriver and some extra case screws. Both are available from Brownells and having extras on hand is piece of mind. In my J-frames, I put Wilson combat springs in them and gave all the parts a good cleaning/and lubricated critical surfaces with tw-25b. Just those two changes made a huge difference in the trigger, because there was still debris and metal shavings in the action when new.

As far as the quality goes, I would recommend paying extra if you can find one of these revolvers in a local shop. I would look it over carefully and dry fire/check the fit and finish. It isn't just S&W, though. I've gotten to where I look everything over with a fine tooth comb these days before buying.

I'm looking to buy either a genuine Trapdoor Springfield rifle or a Civil War-era Springfield front-stuffer.

The latter is easier, since I can buy it without any kind of license, although if I want to actually shoot it, it has to be added to my firearms Certificate. The former HAS to be authorised, as ammunition is still available - if you know where to look, that is, and can afford it. I make my own for my Winchester High Wall...

Hoped to add a Scorpion this year, maybe the new Ruger G19 as well.
Already have a few unexpected expenses that will push that to later in the year, at best.

I didn't make it a week into the new year before buying a gun. I bought a 22LR rifle on Sat and an M&P 9mm from a forum member yesterday.

I'd like to pick up one of these for when my nephews come to visit:

Along with a Henry lever 22. Wouldn't mind a DWX or CZ Shadow 2 Compact for me.
