I have a friend in Spain whose son will be coming to the US to attend a university later this month. The son will need to have medical insurance in order to attend.

Can anyone recommend where he might get a student policy that meets the following requirements as provided to me by my friend?

• Approximate 6 month term
  
• Medical Benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness (ideally higher, eg. $200,000)
  
• Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000
  
• Expenses associated with the medical evacuation to home country in the amount of $50,000
  
• Deductible should not to exceed $500 per accident or illness
  
• Coverage for pre-existing condition of previous pneumothorax issue
  
• Coverage in the event of any covid-related issues such as hospitalization

Many Universities have student health plans available. I would start there.

Have him enroll in the University student health plan. It will satisfy proof of coverage, will be convenient (clinics and services on campus), and will be affordable.
