Huh? So, not only are you guys going to Monday Morning QB this man, but now he's a "vigilante?" I don't have a large enough rolleyes gif. Vigilante, may not fit perfectly. How about person who should have strived for self preservation, but instead tried to engage in a situation where there was a low likelihood of victory, whilst at the same time saving no lives and protecting no one. Yep that just rolls off your tongue. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

No comment on the crazy lady who chased the murderers to the door? This, right after seeing her customer gunned down? She could have been another statistic. Q

I hate to say it, but this looks like a situation where if the guy didn't have a gun, he'd more than likely still be alive. Probably would have dropped to the floor, hands up, and the punks would have kept running out the door.

Zero pawn shops around here allow people to freely walk in like that. They all have locked doors that activate on a switch. I'm surprised Houston would be any different.

Well, I think there's a pretty good chance unfortunately that the fact that he was carrying caused him to engage hero mode. Of course he had the choice to respond differently, but did having a gun on him cause him to react the way he did, whether through poor training or misplaced desire to be a crime-stopper?

I disagree with the spears being thrown at this victim. We don’t know all the facts which led to his choice so it’s unpalatable to me that’s he’s being mocked. Also, very few of us can maintain composure in that kind of similar situation. If you can be perfect, great. But if you can’t, I’d rather be around folks who default to action versus running away. Perhaps he chose poorly, but he died trying to stop bad men and there are worse ways to go.

He chose poorly, but that is in hindsight. After watching the video, I agree with you and others that criticizing or mocking the victim here is grossly unfair. He made a split second decision in a moment where things were moving extremely fast. It is impossible to know right then what the right action would be. Unfortunately, we are left knowing he made the wrong decision. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ne...broke-van-lives.html The above is one where the CC holder prevailed, killed the bad guy. It happened very recently. My point is, individual events vary, no one response fits all. I remember the permit holder in the Vegas Walmart, going for the bad guy. Unbeknownst to him, the female accomplice blended in, shot him in the back.

The victim's instinct to protect was at least unwise. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and call him a hero. Few know really how they would react when confronted by life and death situations. Most of us have a high probability of making an error.
