I know there are a lot of classic car owners here, any experience with Hagerty?

I just did a comparison on my newly adopted vehicle and it is significantly less.

Pros/Cons or general experience compared to normal carriers (ie Hanover, Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, etc)

This is timely. I just added a new=to-me 2001 Porsche 911 to my Hagerty policy which already included a 1959 Chevy Impala. It will cost me $1170 per year for a combined stated value of $125K with $500k/$100k comp/collision coverage.

I haven't had to make a claim, so I have no experience in processing a claim. I've been with Hagerty for 8+ years and previously had All American Classic Insurance (?) with no claims.

For comparison, Liberty Mutual wanted $1050 for the 911 while Hagerty is $641.

Hagerty did base my policy on 5,000 miles per year, which is plenty. My insurance friend said this is a target mileage and they can't deny a claim simply because you drove 5,001 miles. And Hagerty never asked for my odometer reading.

I lost a 2013 427 Convertible Vette to a flood. Hagerty settled over the phone the next day. I currently have two Vettes and both are insured by Hagerty. Been with them close to 30 years.

Adios,

Just had my 2003 S2000 converted to classic car coverage with America Family. Had looked at Haggerty last year but ultimately went with my neighborhood agent who also has my other car and house.

My agent didn't have a classic carrier when I bought the MG.
Added it to my Progressive policy for something like $16/mo.

Will likely revisit on renewal to see if there are any other options, but at that low of a rate, I'm not in a hurry.

Quite a few guys on the MG forum covers theirs with Hagerty, though. So that counts for soemthing.

I did the same with Erie. Just got them to insure for a set value.

I have never been with Hagerty. I went with American Collectables via USAA. They are now asso. with American Family. The rates are acceptable for the coverage. I insure two(2) cars with them.

Hagerty since 1994. 67 Pontiac 2+2 A few years ago I looked at Grundy, they were higher.

Had a couple of glass claims, last one about five years ago. One collision claim, 2004.
Once I put my 82 Harley back on the street I’ll insure that through them also.

Another Hagerty customer here. My 68 Mustang runs around $500/yr for daily driver full coverage with $0 deductible. Somebody doored me last year and caused a small dent and scrape. Roughly $1000 bill at the body shop. The claim was as easy as could be and there was no change in the premium. Happy customer.

Consider the corvette museum insurance program. I switched to them from Hagerty. They had better rates and great reviews. They do not just insure corvettes.

I’ve been with them for 3 years…so far so good. No need for claims as of yet.

I shopped them all and found that Hagerty to be the least expensive of them all for my 1996 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo with an agreed upon replacement price of $25,000. My yearly payment is about $1 a day. God Bless Smile

I had Leland West for my '83 911 track car, but it was only covered while not on the track (USAA dropped it when they found out I was tracking it) and there was an annual mileage limit from which I could not deduct my track miles, which pissed me off. But it was cheaper and easier to deal with than the others I looked at.

I have Hagerty. It's my opinion you don't know if the insurance is any good until you file a claim. Fortunately I don't know if Hagerty is good or not. But it definitely saves me money. And it's sold by my regular agent.
