What do you recommend for a ski trip in Colorado?
In the mid-80’s, I worked as a bellhop / valet one winter in Snowmass. We would pick up incoming guests at the Aspen Airport, check them in at the lodge and transfer their bags to their room or condo. I loved checking in childless couples - young or old - as they were still in a good mood despite the journey to Denver and then to Aspen. I hated to check in families. By that point, the dad was in a pissy mood and looking for someone to dump on.

So, I hear ya on the ordeal & cost of family ski trips. I admire my dad for putting up with that shi$ for years.

Some spring descents from Colorado's 14ers, and some summer descents from the permanent snowfields in our Indian Peaks area. I'll ski flats, steeps, and in between. Powder, ice, moguls, crud. I draw the line on breakable crust, however. My take on Colorado ski areas:

Tough choice. But have fun. Understand that we're off to a slow start this year for snowfall.

I don’t know how anyone could ask for more than Fritz provided. I don’t even ski anymore, and I enjoyed the hell out of reading his reviews.
