I've worked enough night shift as an MP to prefer them to the dayshift. As a building engineer i worked 12-8 for about 6 years. I can sleep during the day so after about 6 weeks of 12-8 my body clock was fully acclimated. _____________________________ 'I'm pretty fly for a white guy'.

I'm night shift, on 12s, and I typically work 15-16hrs a day during the week due to regular OT details. My Sgt works day shift on the same rotation. I'm pretty sure there have been plenty of 6:00am shift change phone conversations between us over the years where I've sounded exactly like that! ![]()

That’s roughly the same way the night shift sergeant sounds when they call at two AM to because it’s my week on call.

I do a lot of work on the back side of the clock. Front side, too. And those other sides. 30 hour workdays can be a bitch.

A long time ago I was on night shift - 12 hour shifts. We'd come in and the factory floor looked like a trailer park after the tornado. When our shift was over, the work was caught up, the place was clean, the tools were put away, the supplies were stored... The place would be running like a swiss watch. 12 hours later the crack-addled gibbons would have torn the shop up again. The day shift workers were not the problem. It was the mere presence of the "supervisory and planning staff" that did an eight-hour shift, didn't see the day shift's entire shift, and never saw the night shift at all. === I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

4 years 3rd shift (2 as supervisor) while going to college, days. We always had it all done on time when day arrived. often the slackers on 2nd shift- we on 3rd had to cover a lot their stuff often and then all of our stuff. 1st shift supervisor once had CEO arrive at data center in the morning who remaked the great job she did as everything was current. The 1st shift supervisor replied; 'Thank Icom since he had it all completed on time as usual.' Linda was hot too (older lady, about 14 years or so, to me at the time- rrrrrrrr). All a long time ago now. -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master. Wow how things are so different in different parts of the country. To me, it sounded like the day shift talking to the afternoon shift! The midnight shift never had anything to report. Sleeping on the job is not acceptable. NRA Life Endowment member Tri-State Gun collectors Life Member
