If you decide to run air lines in your work area from the compressor in order to have better access be sure to use properly rated air line, don't use garden PVC, it can't handle the pressure.

I have a reel on the wall, its not difficult to deal with since I'm not using it day to day It's not a hindrance.

If I had a shop I'd have multiple air connections and just move the hose to wherever
it was needed for the day...

Eponym, that setup is great!! I am making my own, but additionally am setting up a similar one for my long extension cords to keep them on a roller. Thank you!
